Kathryn Gunnels graduated from Desert View HS in the Sunnyside District back in 1988. She attended Pima Community College and then transferred to the University of Arizona where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Education degree with a minor in Extended English. Kathryn graduated in December of 2001 and went straight into the classroom at Pueblo HS where she worked for the better part of the last 23 years as a teacher and eventually an Assistant Principal. In 2022, Kathryn, had the opportunity to begin her principalship at Pistor MS, serving and working in the community where she grew up. Kathryn is proud to say that her husband of almost 37 years, Michael Gunnels, and both my sons, Derek and Jeren Gunnels, became educators and are still working at Pueblo HS.
